I’m a software developer turned entrepreneur specialising in network security solutions. This blog contains my personal opinions, tips, rantings, musings and outlook on all things in life. Based in Nottingham, I split my time between Nottingham and Cornwall where I love to spend timeout at our costal hideaway with my wife Kelly and our 3 crazy but adorable dogs.
I am currently involved with several software companies producing a wide range of solutions in the B2B arena, working as a hands-on CEO I still write code daily, my passion is delivering outstanding software combined with first class customer support.
In 2002 I developed one of the first open source Java SSH APIs and founded 3SP Ltd to develop commercial client and server implementations of SSH. During my time at 3SP I also founded and architected the open source, browser-based SSL VPN called SSL-Explorer which was eventually acquired by Barracuda Networks in 2008.
After 3SP I founded a new company called SSHTOOLS Limited to continue the development and support of the SSH APIs and the company now provides open source and commercial APIs with a 3rd generation API expected towards the end of 2014.
In 2011 I co-founded Nervepoint Technologies an ISV specialising in easy-to-use user management solutions helping to deliver its flagship product Access Manager which provides a comprehensive virtualised self-service solution for SMEs.
My main focus right now is a new startup called Hypersocket Software for which I have architected a new software development platform that will help deliver a range of products across the cloud, premise and virtualised infrastructure.
